Update December 9, 2006

The doctors have decided that Taylor is a good candidate for a surgery that would install a mechanical diaphragm. This would be very similiar to a pacemaker except that it would be installed to function her diaphragm and make her able to breathe on her own. The main benefit would be that she could be removed from the ventilator, which could increase her options for rehabilitation facilities and would greatly increase her comfort. The surgery would be performed in a couple of weeks and it would take several weeks to wean her off of the ventilator.

Taylor is as talkative as ever and had a private lesson with her teacher Mrs. Knecht today. Mrs. Knecht brought gifts from other children and lessons that Taylor needed to catch up on. Tammy should keep busy with home schooling!

We would like to thank everyone involved with the fundraising at the Woodland Christmas parade today and everyone helping out with the carnitas feed. Thanks for all of your support and emails. We're looking forward to seeing you all soon.

Hi Taylor. I saw your pretty picture in the Woodland paper. What a great idea to have your very own website! It's great to receive updates on how well you are doing. Many thoughts and prayers are going out to you and your family. Your mom is a very special friend of mine, and please remind her that she can call whenever she needs someone to talk to. Be strong.

Dear Taylor,
Good morning little angel. I hope you are doing fine today. I am glad to hear about this surgery that can help you to breath on your own, sounds like it will be a really good thing. I will be praying for you.
Sounds like everyone in Chico are
coming together with different fund
raisers to help you. That is so wonderful. I don't live by you but I will help out where ever possible. I keep updated everyday through my daughter that does live in Chico.
It's almost Christmas and maybe
a miracle will happen for you and
your family. I sure hope so.
Keep up the hard work and never give up.
You are always in my thoughts and
prayers.
Bye for now.

Are you getting ready for a visit from Santa? It's getting close!! I bet you have lots of really cool things on your wish list!

Tell your Mommy and Tanner we all said Hello to them! Take care honey and continue being a strong and brave girl!

Always in my thoughts and LOTS of love,

Hi Taylor,
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer here. No jokes about my nose ok? (I know I have a "glowing personality.") Ha Ha. The reindeers, elves, and I were all talking and heard about your accident while up here in the North Pole. We just wanted to wish you a speedy recovery and will be dedicating our upcoming Christmas flight around the world to you on this special Christmas night 2006. You are an inspiration to all of us with your bravery and for being so strong throughout all of this. Overcoming tough challenges (like me beating that mean reindeer Arrow in the sled race and getting a kiss from Zoe) is what I do best! I know you will get through these challenges from the accident too. Take care and, oh yeah, Santa wanted to say hello too but I told him that it's my turn to write to you and to wait his turn. Best wishes and know we are all rooting for you!
